Stofen's Landing

Named after Captains Jack Stofen and Peter Stofen who came to Embarcadero in 1863 and started a business hauling freight between Sonoma Valley and San Francisco. In 1874, they built the stern-wheel Steamer Sonoma which provided both passenger and freight service.
