KSVY 91.3 Sonoma is public, non profit bilingual community radio at its best—completely adopted by the community. With over 60 volunteer hosts from the Sonoma area, each with varying interests and life views, KSVY’s programming is free of the constraints of commercial interest. KSVY is unique in its ability to convey not only locally, but regionally, nationally, even globally, what is distinctive about Sonoma, its people, places and events.

2011-04-14 20:55:49   Was that the Stan Pappas Show...or what? Last Friday I tuned in the "View from the Right" or whatever Stan calls his show and thought for a few minutes that there had been a serious 4-space warp....I was of the impression that Ken Brown had his own show but it seems that that does not suffice as a Pershing Square soap box for Ken and his so-called "progressivism" (progress toward what?)...so he now sees fit to invade, infest and sky-jack the Stan Pappas Show on Friday p.m. to ply his agenda of free-everything-for-everybody-including-illegals "liberalism" as that term is currently so grossly abused to the point of meaninglessness. I was not aware either that public radio featured twenty minute commercial spots but we were sure treated to one this last Friday while Stan, Ken, who had pretty much commandeered the show, and Dino of Body Beautiful essentially conducted a meeting of the local Mutual Admiration Society with Ken Brown bragging up trash tourism and gloating over the way rubbernecks flood into Sonoma and strew their wealth around like drunken sailors. The bottom line of it is that Ken needs to stay on his own hour of "liberal" inconsequentiality and Stan to remain on his likewise "conservative" 60 minutes and stick to supposedly "right wing" dogma and spare us the twenty minute plugs which is what public radio is most assuredly NOT about. —RobertHauser
